Hello and goodnight

I'd like to introduce you to Space Dog Beauty Queen... Spark. My Guitar. (It's a "Tori Amos can answer any question with a song title." kind of thing.)

Hello and greetings from Maryland! I landed safely and with a proverbial horseshoe up my ass last night at about 6:30pm local! It was almost like one of those useless math questions you got in elementary school...

If a Rocket is traveling South East at an approximate air speed of ~BLANK~ and a winter storm is traveling North towards the same destination at an approximate speed of ~BLANK~. Who will arrive first?

Guess what.

I won.

Just barely.

Fifteen minutes after touch down the snow started to hit us hard and we had a slightly hairy ride home. (More so because of the nut jobs passing us on the freeway.) Carolyn is a very good driver, the ones beside us kinda freaked me a bit though.

Rush hour in Winnipeg is two lanes and the sneaky cars that try to slip in and out of the bus lane. Rarely does it get above 50kms (or 30mph). You stop, you go, you stop, you go. Simple exercise in frustration.

Here... it's 3-4 lanes, noes' and asses and everyone's doing 100-120km (or 65mph) It's a bit more intense to say the least.

Wow. Just wow - I can't tell you how gracious and inviting my hostesses have been. Already only here for one day and I've settled in nicely. I'm unpacked, have snuggled with the dog (several times) I've even slept walked. Feels just like home!

Despite my cold (which seems to be re-surging) I've managed to do a bit of research for one book and some writing for another.

Tomorrow is onward and upward. I'm going to do a little more writing, maybe some doodling. Cuddle with the dog and perhaps go for a walk. And take anti-cold drugs. Because they work.

Alright - look forward to updates.
